Camera in Secret
Radcliffe Camera is one of Oxford’s most photographed buildings.
Here’re some interesting notes:
- Locals and students affectionately call it “Rad Cam”.
- It sits in Radcliffe Square, right in the historic centre, surrounded by the Bodleian Libraries, St Mary’s Church, and many colleges.
- Its circular rotunda, topped with a dome, makes it one of Oxford’s most distinctive architectures.
- Built in the 1700s using Sir John Radcliffe's donation, it remains a working library today.
