This staircase leads up to one of the most famous dining halls in Oxford — the Great Hall at Christ Church. It inspired the Hogwarts Great Hall in Harry Potter.

The Great Hall in the films was recreated as a studio set, but this staircase appears in several scenes, including the moment in Philosopher’s Stone when Professor McGonagall greets the first-year students.
